Mac Mini goes Intel

2 Models – Solo edition and Duo

The Duo will be same Intel Dual processor on one processor that we saw announced at Macworld.

The Solo is the entry level edition of that processor.

Faster Ethernet, more USB ports and analog and SPDIF audio!

"And, of course, you can also hook it up to televisions,"

Sweet! WooHOO!

Front Row in the Mini, Exactly what they needed to OWN the home market.

"Front Row with Bonjour," is what Steve called it. Zero configuration networking.

Anyone else with itunes in the house can share the music library with everyone else in the house. So now I assume you can share videos too?

What will Apple do today?

Remember that last year they had back to back announcements. Macworld is still fresh in so many peoples minds with new intel machines and software being released. yet, they asked a group of reporter's to attend apple campus small venue today for some fun announcements. maybe they will just lament in the success of a billion downloads.

One thing for sure is that Microsoft is trying to steal some thunder. they will announce something today too. Poor Microsoft. Trying to out cool the cool. Many speculate they will release Origami today, which would be cool. Watch this video. (Is it real? or just some kids with a camera and an iMac) It will go out to do for pen computing what they set out to do several years ago. they will do well if they can keep the price under $500. Wireless, Touch Screen, Small, Portable, Fat or Phat, Windows CE OS of course. It will be the remote control for your windows media center pc and it will become a hard drive for your digital camera and music library.

But Microsoft will be fooled I'm afraid. Remember April First is just a few short weeks away and if they announce origami today they will have taken the bait. Sony did it with the Xbox 360 and now Apple is doing it with origami.

Cause Apple will announce the same thing iPad on April 1st, or will that be today? hmmmm. I can't wait.

Google Video can't touch this

I stumbled upon YouTube.com and it is very cool.. The quality of the videos is like Quicktime compared to Windows Media. Google should of bought these guys. Tight!

Watch this video. It is fantastic. Every product package student and worker should watch this. Heck everyone should watch it. the sad thing is that the end result looks good in a way because we have been conditioned by Microsoft as to what is good.

And I assume its to mostly Windows users!

My Apple Stock should be doing very well soon, Again!

Apple's First Ad for email on Apple III

Check out the ad for email on the Apple III. This was a shock. I remember email on my first Mac using compuserve and paying $1,200 for my 1200 baud modem and paying several hundred dollars some months for the time online.

We have come a long way...

April Fools Day is almost here... no foolin

April 1st is coming, and it marks the 30 year anniversary of the birth of Apple computer.
What do you think they will announce on this day?
I really believe it will be HUGE!

iPod Cell Phone - Why Not Disney is launching cell service this summer.
iPod Remote control - Music, TV, Computer, DVD, DVR control from your chair
iMac Mini DVR - Tivo in a box, HD In/Out, Cable, Sat Ready
Mac HTE - Mac Home Theatre Edition - Extreme Home Theatre Money for an extreme machine
iMac Minipod - Watch your DVR's anywhere - The perfect companion

and of course the Macintosh 30 Year edition...
remember the last one.

Twentieth Anniversary Macintosh     May 1997
An extraordinary Macintosh released to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Apple’s incorporation. A very slim unit featured LCD screen, sound system by Bose (including separate soundwoofer) and a notebook-like keyboard. Available for $10,000, it arrived at buyer’s doorstep assisted with a tuxedo-clad Apple’s representative unpacking the gear and giving a short demo.

Ultimately in this commodity based world, we scoff at paying $10,000 for a computer when you can get one for $1,000 but people pay $50,000 for car.

Why can't a computer be a luxury item.

Why can't a person show up at your door in a tuxedo and set it up and demo it for you?

Crazy multi-input touch screen

Watch this video.  Then dream.
It's like that movie with Tom Cruise, Minority Report.
Years ago Apple produced a video of the future. Where we have computers in everyroom (all macs of course ) and children collaborated with video conferencing and used touch screens to mix chemicals safely for a science experiment.
Like watching the jetsons, star trek and space 1999 did as a kid, this video made me wish that the future projected was real. I'm ready for my flying car.

Finally a search engine for developers

Next Month - Krugle.com will launch. (Rhymes with google... hmmm.)
Anyways, this is something i have wanted for years. With all the source code out there and tip and tricks, it has been difficult to find great code samples quickly.
Now we can.
They have a beta going on now.
They say they have millions and millions of lines of code indexed from all the opensource sites and from large orgs like sun.
I can't wait.

from thier site. http://www.krugle.com/
krugle/the search engine/

findcode/findanswers/krugle makes it easy for developers to find source code and technical information—fast!

enablesyou/01/to quickly find and review source code 02/find code related technical information 03/save, annotate and share your search results with others...all from within a single, easy-to-use, web application.

Teague's Poem

Most friends are like leaves, they come and go as they please.

A very little amount of friends are like trees, you find them, they grow, they hold many leaves but best of all, if they are true best friends, they stay where they are forever.
