TEDxAshland.com – May 20, 2019
We spent months after being selected, creating enough content to speak for several hours and write many books and launch a blog on the idea we came up with and refined into a 17 minute TEDx Talk.
The elevator pitch of the talk is that in 15 years 40 percent of the jobs are going to become obsolete because of robots and AI. We need to develop a new way of learning new skills rapidly using a derivative of the agile approach that Trever and I use in our shops, to write code.
The video of the talk should be posted on TED.com and/or Youtube soon and I will include a link to it when it is posted as well as a full transcription of the talk.
Fair Attendance Attracting the Millennials
How do you attract the “Millennial Generation” to the County Fair?
I will share our experiences at the Jackson County Fair and how we turned it around by creating experiences for the next Generation. I’ll also share real world “Millennials” stories and misconceptions and I’ll speak to removing the label “Millennials” and instead focus on “TNG – The Next Generation“
Speakers: Jim Teece.
Moderated by: Mark Koberstein-Josephine County Fair
I have been asked to give a talk at the Klamath Idea on January 23, 2019 – The event runs from 5:30 to 8pm atMC’s on Main is located at 617 Main St. in downtown Klamath Falls and I’m just a small part of it. I’ll be speaking about Project A as well as all my other companies and what it’s like to run them in Southern Oregon.
The Klamath IDEA is a community initiative committed to creating a thriving entrepreneurial culture in Klamath and Lake Counties here in Oregon.
It sounds a lot like the E2E initiative we started here. I’m looking forward to it.
Here is the link to the event info.
I have been asked to give the closing keynote at the 16th annual Rogue Biz Forum. This is a free event for small business owners and dreamers. I am proud to have been involved since the first forum. I also sponsor the after-party. It’s a free event so come down and make sure you don’t miss my closing keynote.
Friday, October 26, 2018 — 7:30 AM – 4:30
I have been asked to speak to the FFA/4H, Staff and Community at large at the Nevada County Fair.
I have been asked to give the morning kickoff keynote for the regional Rotary District Meeting. It is quite the honor. Rotarians in communities from Lincoln City to Bend down to Lakeview and over to Brookings (That is a huge footprint). It also includes Yreka and Tulelake. Over 300 community leaders will attend and I have been asked to speak about “Future Proofing” and the Rotary. I’m very excited. District5110.org/Conference
I have been asked to speak again (my third year in a row) at the Medford Forum. To change it up and provide a smooth transition to future speakers I will be doing a talk show style talk with Carey Cahill, Director of Business Development, Hunter Communications. We will discuss Future Proofing Southern Oregon and checking in on all the progress that we are all making together. I’ll also talk about my 3 future projects that I will be focusing on.
I have been asked to present “Future Proofing your Chamber and your Community.” to the Western Association of Chamber Executives. I will give my future proofing concept but instead of being about fairs, it will be about the work we have done in Ashland and with the Ashland Chamber of Commerce.
